As part of the Summit Community Climate Action Plan, Breckenridge recently adopted the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code, this newly passed action will be a stricter standard of efficiency. This new code will raise the house price by about 1-2%, however, these changes will also increase the value of the home, as Breckenridge is by no means a temperate climate, making living in Summit County very energy demanding; which also means we have a greater responsibility to try to offset those energy demands.

“We’re doing it for the sake of keeping the place where we live a place we can live and the clock is ticking,” Council member Wolfe said. “We must go in this direction. So I’m prepared, realizing that there’s going to be bumps in the road …

Vacant Lot Partnership

The town of Frisco may be working with a private landowner to turn a vacant lot off of Granite St into new workforce housing plans. This is not the first time the town has partnered to create housing; as was the case for the Peak One Neighborhood.

The council meeting agreed that they are greatly in need of workforce housing, however, they want to closely examine the comments and responses from the community and then work on a more formal proposal before taking it back to the public. This proposal is in its infancy and it requires a lot of consideration before coming to a decision.

It’s never too early to start thinking about your Valentine’s Day plans, especially if you’re spending it here in Breckenridge. So whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner spot or hope to get outside and enjoy a day filled with wintertime recreation, here’s a quick look at how we recommend you celebrate Valentine’s Day in Breckenridge.

Outside Activities

Sleigh Ride

Breckenridge Stables offers sleigh rides at 2 different locations: Peak 9 and the Breckenridge Gold Run Nordic Center. We love the Peak 9 option because it travels up the mountain and reaches about 11,000’ elevation, which couldn’t provide riders with a better view of Ten Mile Range and downtown Breckenridge. But in all honesty, you can’t really go wrong either way. Wool
