Chef Katy Pierson, owner and designer, of Sugar has been living in and loving the mountains since 2001. A Minnesota native, Katy moved to Breckenridge from La Jolla California where she worked as a camp counselor. Katy spent the next several years working at Clint’s, a local bakery/coffee shop in Breckenridge, which helped further ignite her passion for baking and lead her to find a culinary program to attend in California.
Katy, referring to herself as always being a crafty person, states her culinary passion sparked at a young age. “Throughout my childhood, my mom could always be counted on to have a rotation of seasonal-based Martha Stewart magazines on the coffee table to help inspire her evening and holiday meals.”
