Known throughout Summit County as one of Breckenridge’s most reputable snowboard and bike rental shops, Mountain Wave will be celebrating their 26th year in business. Their sister shop, Blue River Sports, will be celebrating their 37th year in business where they offer high quality ski rentals in Breckenridge. Mountain Wave and its owner John George are this month’s Uniquely Breckenridge feature.

Like so many others, John George came to Breckenridge 35 years ago from Missouri to enjoy all that the mountains have to offer. After high school John entered the Marine Corps and was a drill sergeant for two years before completing his college education and heading to the mountains. Lighting of Breckenridge and Race of the Santas

Head down to Main Street to see the magical transformation of Breckenridge into a glittering, festive, holiday scene. As a local’s favorite holiday-themed event, don't miss and, in fact, join in with the countless reindeers (kids under 12) and Santas as they cruise down Main Street signaling the kick-off to the holiday season.

Starting at 3pm with the Make Your Own Ornament, the afternoon quickly transforms as the dogs take to the street to show off their most inventive holiday costume, followed by the Reindeer Run at 4:20pm, and then the Race of the Santas at 4:30pm. 

Directly following the mob of Santas is the Lighting of Breckenridge.

It’s hard to believe Halloween 2018 is over and we’re already looking ahead to the rest of the autumn season. But here we are already 1 day down in November with Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly approaching.
