3 Ways to Cool Down This Summer in Breckenridge
Although the first day of summer isn’t officially until June 21st, many consider Memorial Day Weekend the unofficial start of the summer season. And with this year’s holiday weekend already in the rearview mirror, let the summertime fun begin!
Tour the Country Boy Mine
Did you know the Country Boy Mine is one of the oldest and most famous mines in all of Summit County? And did you also know it’s been voted as one of the best things to do in Breckenridge? Tour-goers travel well over 1,000 feet into the mine and guides will even show you how to pan for gold after your tour is over. And because the mine stays at a cool 45 degrees all year long, it’s also a great way to cool down on a hot summer day!
Stop By Stir-Pan Creamery
For our money, there’s nothing better than a scoop (or several) of your favorite ice cream at Stir-Pan Creamery, especially when its hot outside. Centrally located on Main Street, a trip to Stir-Pan shouldn’t take long, especially if you’re lucky enough to already live downtown!
Spend the Day at Lake Dillon
Spending a summer day out on Lake Dillon is about as relaxing as it gets, and with 25 miles of shoreline, there’s plenty of water for sailing, fishing, or for just enjoying a nice pleasant boat ride. Oh, and there’s also lakeside dining at the marina, as well as nearby hiking trails and even a shorefront amphitheater, ensuring there’s plenty to do here beyond just getting out on the water.
