This month’s Uniquely Breckenridge features what will be one of the town’s newest small businesses to make its debut, and one we’re especially excited about in particular—Bhava Yoga. As the Sanskrit word for “well-being,” or “state of wellness,” that’s precisely what owner Jenni and the new yoga studio will encourage through all their offerings and classes, which will be individually designed by each instructor to be creative, innovative, and leave a specific feeling or “bhava” in both your mind and your body.

Third Quarter Review

With the close of 2017 right around the corner, the trend of increasing prices over 2016 continues. Comparing 2016’s third quarter with the 2017 third quarter, Summit County marks positive increases across many areas. The Average Residential Sales Price continues to climb over the previous year with an 18.45% increase, raising the average sales price from $563,866 to an incredible $667,911. We also saw a 17.11% increase in the Overall Transaction Median Price.

This month’s Uniquely Breckenridge features photographer and gallery owner David Pfau. Owner of Breckenridge Photographics, David’s gallery is located in the heart of Breckenridge’s Main Street and just a short walk to the base of Breckenridge Mountain’s Quicksilver Chair.

David came to Breckenridge in 1987 after graduating from the Journalism school at the University of Colorado at Boulder. While David owned a home in Boulder, he frequently came to Breckenridge to shoot mountain landscapes and ended up renting a studio apartment so he could ski and mountain bike. It wasn’t until 1991 that David made Breckenridge his permanent home; he started his business, bought a home, and got his first Labrador Retriever who would soon become his muse.

Chef Katy Pierson, owner and designer, of Sugar has been living in and loving the mountains since 2001.  A Minnesota native, Katy moved to Breckenridge from La Jolla California where she worked as a camp counselor.  Katy spent the next several years working at Clint’s, a local bakery/coffee shop in Breckenridge, which helped further ignite her passion for baking and lead her to find a culinary program to attend in California.

South Ridge Seafood Grill 

South Ridge Seafood Grill is our Uniquely Breckenridge spotlight this month.  As the name suggests, seafood is the main event at this Breckenridge restaurant offering small plates of mussels and trout dip followed by entrees such as soft-shell crab BLT, grilled fish, and meat plates.
