A New Year's Eve Celebration Breckenridge-Style
The Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone, Christmas is right around the corner, and New Year’s Eve will no doubt be here before we know it. Yep—the holiday season is definitely in full swing right now and there’s no time like the present to plan ahead and make this year’s celebration the best yet.
If you didn’t already know, Breckenridge is easily the best place to be of anywhere in the Colorado Rockies on New Year’s Eve. From its beautiful mountain scenery to its overall friendly and laid-back atmosphere, there’s truly nothing like ringing in the new year among friends right here America’s top ski town. This year, lots of fun events and festivities are in store for the last day of 2018, starting with the following:
Torchlight Parade - 6:00 p.m.
An annual tradition that defines New Year’s in Breckenridge, the Torchlight Parade lights up the slopes from the top of Peak 9 all the way down to Main Street. What also makes it unique is that you can actually see it happening from just about anywhere in town.
Breckenridge New Year’s Eve Fireworks - 9:00 p.m.
Following the Torchlight Parade is an awesome fireworks display over Peak 9 that’s always a breathtaking sight to see. If you’re planning to be out on the mountains for the parade, don’t worry—you’ll still have plenty of time to get downtown to enjoy the fireworks and festivities happening around town since the show doesn’t start until 9 p.m.
Beaver Run Resort New Year’s Eve Parties
If you’re looking for a New Year’s Eve party, Beaver Run is the place to be. The Coppertop Cafe Party (21+) will start around 8:30 and include music, drink specials, and dancing; Base Nine Bar will also have much of the same, as well as party favors and free snacks from 9 to 11 p.m.; and the Imperial Ballroom will have a family buffet with music and party favors as well.
New Year’s Eve at The Maggie
For our money, this might be the best place to spend New Year’s Eve in Breckenridge. Food and drink specials are offered all night, there’s NO cover charge, and you’ll get to enjoy a pretty awesome view of the Torchlight Parade. A complimentary photo booth and live entertainment will also be part of the fun as well.
