Best April Events in Breckenridge [Updated for 2023]
Welcome to Springtime in the Mountains! April definitely promises sunny skies and spring skiing. With a chance to play outside, or settle in for some indoor Easter activities, there is plenty to do in April in Summit County.
Plan Before You Go
Most ski areas start to close in April, and while the snow starts to melt in the town of Breckenridge, there's still plenty of skiing and riding to be had up high. Starting April 17th, only certain lifts and ski runs will remain open so be sure to do your research before hitting the slopes. Here is a link the Breckenridge Ski Area for specifics, including the gondola closing date (spoiler alert - it's April 30th).
Ukrainian Egg Decorating
Spring brings colorful flowers to other parts of the country. Here in the high country, we're still steeped in white snow so we have to create our own colors. Try something new this year with this Ukrainian tradition. It uses a wax resist method for decorating and dying Easter eggs.
This class is being offered Apri 1-8 at the Fuqua Livery Stable. Learn more and make your reservations early on the BreckCreate website.
Silverthorne First Friday: Burning Snowman
The Town of Silverthorne will come together Friday, April 7th to celebrate Springtime in the mountains (and say goodbye to our long Winter season). Join the Town as it celebrates with a bonfire and a symbolic burning of a snowman.
To learn more about Silverthorne's First Friday celebration, visit the Town of Silverthorne website.
Frisco Easter Egg Hunt
Include the Frisco Easter Egg Hunt in your Easter Sunday celebrations, April 9th at 12 PM. The Easter Bunny will hide eggs throughout the Frisco Historic Park, and children 8 years old and younger are invited to come and search out these eggs!
Plan to be in Frisco all day and visit Frisco's Main Street for shopping and dining. To learn more about the event, visit the Town of Frisco website.
