The quaint town of Breckenridge, while always breathtaking, transforms into a magical scene from a holiday movie the weekend of December 7th. A treat for the entire family, the Race of the Santas is the perfect way to leave Thanksgiving behind and truly get into the Christmas spirit. Join hundreds of other Santas (elves and Mrs. Claus's are also welcome) as you sprint, jog, or walk your way down Breckenridge's Main Street. No need to train either, this 'race' is typically downhill. The Race of the Santas is a 3-part event, starting with the Holiday Dog Parade. Yes, you read that correctly, this is a parade for your favorite furry friend. Directly following the pups, is the Reindeer Run, dedicated to all spirited holiday lovers the ages of 12 and under; followed by the official Race of the Santas.
After the races conclude, head to the Town Tree in Blue River Plaza to watch the sunset as the twinkling lights of Breckenridge turn on. An incredibly magical moment loved by locals and visitors alike.

Break the world’s longest shot ski record at Ullr Shot Ski
Thursday, 4pm
Hosted by Breckenridge Distillery, the masses with gather down Breckenridge’s lengthy Main Street in hopes of, yet again, breaking the current World Record for the longest Shot Ski. $10 to help Breck nab the record and of course you must be 21 to enter.

Everyone from local businesses, groups of friends, to organizations conjure up their best effort to honor Ullr in hopes of bringing in plentiful snow and snagging the top prize. Directly following the parade, the annual massive bonfire is sparked in the South Gondola Parking Lot. Free to all and live entertainment is provided by Red Bull.

Lighting of Breckenridge and Race of the Santas
Date: December 8, 2018
Main Street & Blue River Plaza

Head down to Main Street to see the magical transformation of Breckenridge into a glittering, festive, holiday scene. As a local’s favorite holiday-themed event, don't miss and, in fact, join in with the countless reindeers (kids under 12) and Santas as they cruise down Main Street signaling the kick-off to the holiday season.
Starting at 3pm with the Make Your Own Ornament, the afternoon quickly transforms as the dogs take to the street to show off their most inventive holiday costume, followed by the Reindeer Run at 4:20pm, and then the Race of the Santas at 4:30pm.
Directly following the mob of Santas is the Lighting of Breckenridge. The bonafide Kris Kringle makes a special trip to his favorite mountain town and flips the switch on the impressive light show that encompasses Blue River Plaza and our massive Town Tree.

New Year’s Eve Celebration

A true mountain town classic, the Torchlight Parade caravans down from the top of Peak 9 towards the village in an incredible spectacle that all should view at least once in their lifetime. Able to be seen from many viewpoints around town, our best recommendation for the prime viewing location and ability to take advantage of all evening’s festivities is at Maggie Pond (at Main Street Station, Village Base Area).
Duck into one of the local Main Street Station establishments or head to Main Street for dinner post-Torchlight Parade to pass the time till round two amps up. The incredible show takes place in front of the backdrop of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Fireworks will begin at 9PM and are viewable pretty much anywhere in town. After the light show, don't miss one of the countless parties and specials happening around Main Street.

Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge
Let your imagination run wild at the Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge. These beautiful works of art, made fun snow, will challenge the way you have viewed gravity. The annual tradition and incredible works of art will be on display at the Breckenridge's Riverwalk Center, tomorrow through February 7th, 2016. The show will begin tomorrow morning on the Breckenridge Snow Sculptures, where sixteen teams from around the world compete in the 25th Annual Budweiser International Snow Sculpting Championships.

Tomorrow through February 7th, the highly accomplished and artistic teams will be transforming the 20 ton blocks of snow into astonishing creations. Some of the past geometric patterns seem to defy the gravity or bringing an underwater scene to life. There is always an array for creativity at the Breckenridge snow sculptures.
If you visit the Breckenridge International Snow Sculptures during the week, you will be able to watch the sculptors work with hand tools only to bring out the beauty of snow. They will face the harsh alpine temperatures and environment, along with some long days (and sometimes working through the night). Each masterpiece will be judged, and you can even cast your own vote for your favorite piece. The creations will be on display until February 7th and then they will disappear just as quickly as they were constructed. It is well worth your time to make a visit (or two) to check out these magnificent snow carvings. The best time to view the snow sculptures is in the evening, when they are illuminated with LED lights, giving them an entire new dimension. If you do decide to make it out for the event, remember that you are coming to a high alpine environment -- please dress warmly and wear shoes with good traction.
For more information on the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championship, please visit the Breckenridge Resort Chamber website. Breckenridge Celebrates Ullr Fest
It is that time of year again...when the locals and visitors pull out their Viking hats and start doing the Ullr dance! The holiday rush is now behind us and we are looking for some more fresh powder! Today is the start of Ullr Fest, a three-day celebration to Ullr, the norse god of snow. A long time ago, the mountain hippies started a tradition of celebrating to Ullr in hopes that he would bless the Colorado high country with some fresh snow. In its 53rd year, come see what all the excitement is about. Chants of U-llr, U-ller (ooh-lur) can be heard throughout town. When you live where the air is thin, we have to get creative!
This year's Breckenridge Ullr Fest events include the crowning of the Ullr King and Queen, Breck's Got Talent, Ullympics, Ullr ShotSki, Ullr Parade, Ullr bonfire, ice skating, and so much more! The events take place starting this evening and will continue through January 16th. It is a mountain tradition that you truly do not want to miss. And if you cannot make it this year, than make plans to attend next year.
I look forward to seeing you around this week! To find out more specifics about event times, please visit GoBreck.com.

Fresh Powder at the Breck Ski Resort
With 11 inches of fresh powder at the Breckenridge Ski Resort in the last 48 hours, the beautiful glistening snow should be calling your name! It will be another powder day here in Breckenridge. This last snow storm was just what the resort needed in order to open up more terrain before the Christmas rush. They announced that they have opened up the E-Chair on Peak 9. Also, the Breck SuperConnect mid-station is now open as well, allowing access to additional runs such as Tiger, Southern Cross, Psychopath, Frosty's Freeway, and Lower Boneyard. So if you are searching for some amazing snow, I am sure you will be able to find it.
If you are deciding whether or not to make the trek up from the Front Range this weekend, maybe this will entice you... the fresh powder at the Breckenridge Ski Resort announced that 6-chair will running TODAY!!! This will be the first upper mountain terrain that will open for the 2015/2016 ski season. And with 23 inches of snow in one week, conditions should be epic!
The coming week forecast outlook is looking pretty positive too. The Rocky Mountains are in for another round of snow in the coming days. This could be your first powder day of the season. I hope to see you on the slopes for some fresh tracks!

Holiday Season Starts in Breckenridge!
The holiday season is in full swing in Breckenridge! Tomorrow, brave the cold temperatures and participate in the annual Race of the Santas and Reindeer down historic Main Street, Breckenridge. Starting at 4:30, holiday enthusiasts will dress up in Santa costumes and skip, jump, sprint, walk, or run the 6 block race. If you are under 12, register for a set of reindeer antlers (and even a shiny bright red nose) and race along with Santa. It is a great event that the entire family can participate in. This charitable event is for a great cause, raising money for the local Adopt an Angel program, providing gifts to families in the area that would otherwise not be able to. At the finish line, warm-up with some hot cocoa and cookies at the Red, White, and Blue Fire Department.
Following the Race of the Santas, head to the Blue River Plaza and watch as the Bernese Mountain Dogs take Santa to center stage. The annual Breckenridge Tree Lighting ceremony will start around 5:00. Breckenridge will be transformed into a scene right out of your favorite holiday movie. After the tree lighting until 7 p.m., head across the street to the Barney Ford Museum and get your picture taken with Santa. This is a free event for all ages!
'Tis the season! Snow has blanketed everything in Breckenridge, so it is a perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.

Breckenridge Ski Resort is Ready for You this 2015/2016 Ski Season.
The Breckenridge Ski Resort had its opening day on November 13th, and it was a great one! Since November 10th, Mother Nature graced the landscape with 18 inches of white gold. The Colorado SuperChair started running at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, allowing skiers to access at least 80 acres of skiable terrain, covering three runs including Springmeier, Trygve's and Middle 4 O'clock. The lifts started at 9 a.m. and the excitement for a great 2015/2016 ski season could be felt in the crisp mountain air.
The high temperatures for Breckenridge are in the low to mid thirties, creating the perfect environment for snow to be made. Snow making crews at the Breckenridge Ski Resort are working vigorously to get more terrain opened in time for Thanksgiving weekend.
If you can recall last season, opening day was delayed because the mountain did not see much snow accumulation early on. So everyone is hopeful based on recent snow totals, that this season will be better than the previous year. But it never hurts to ask for a little more help, so start doing your snow dance to Ullr.
We are very excited for the upcoming 2015/2016 ski season at Breckenridge Ski Resort...so grab your skis or snowboards and pencil in some much needed away time. Come to Breckenridge for a great ski weekend. No matter when you come up, there will be fun to be had.

This free event is hosted by Breckenridge Grand Vacations in conjunction with GoBreck and the Town of Breckenridge. Teaming up with each other, the town was able to host the event at the Riverwalk Center. The Fall Festival is geared to the locals in our community, but will hopefully encourage people to come visit Breckenridge during the slower season. Sandi Metzger, event director for GoBreck says, "This is one thing GoBreck is trying to do with our events is extend our summer season, start earlier and extend them through the fall season. We're expanding our season and trying to keep the town busier so we don't have such down times." And this event is a great one because it is completely family focused and FREE.
If you will be joining in on the fun, parking will be available at the Riverwalk Center, F Lot and throughout town. Donations are voluntary, but strongly encouraged, benefiting the Family & Intercultural Resource Center.
Enjoy the free day of fun at the Breckenridge Fall Festival!

Some of the worlds best bike riders are returning to Colorado next week for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. It is one of the largest sporting events in the state, drawing in over one million viewers. Cyclists will ride through the majestic Rocky Mountains, reaching intense elevations over some of Colorado's mountain passes. Summit County is the place to be this year. Breckenridge Summer Kicks Off this Weekend
Breckenridge is the place to be this weekend. Kick off the summer, and escape the hot Front Range temperatures, with a trip to our quaint mountain town for the annual Breckenridge Town Party and Kingdom Days. Friday, June 19th, marks the 20th Annual Breckenridge Town Party. The town hosts the annual party to say thank you to the locals for a great winter season. Grab a camp chair, pack a picnic (or purchase food/drinks) and join us on the lawn of the Riverwalk Center from 4:30-9:30 p.m. for a true mountain evening. It is a great setting to get caught up with friends, while enjoying the free concert.
Stick around for the entire weekend because the Breckenridge Town Party is just the start. Kingdom Days will be taking place June 20-21st. Its a time when you can look back and appreciate the old mining days that made Breckenridge the famous ski town that it is today. Gold was not the only thing found in Ten Mile Range! The big hit of the weekend will be the Outhouse Races, on Ridge Street. Taking place on Sunday at 2 p.m., it is a fun and quirky way to celebrate Dad. Come by and cheer on teams that have mastered building portable outhouses on wheels. The homemade commodes will race for the finish line in hopes of winning cash prizes and top honors with the Gold Throne, the Silver Moon or the Bronze Bucket awards. It will definitely provide some good laughs!
The Breckenridge Fun Park and the gondola will also start operating this coming weekend. Enjoy free trips on the gondola to the Base of Peak 8, where you will find loads of fun! Take a spine on the Gold Runner rollercoaster, come sailing down the mountain on the Alpine Superslide, fly high on the TenMile Flyer Zipline and so much more.
So start your summer right with a trip to Breckenridge! I hope to see you at the Breckenridge Town Party and Kingdom Days.
