Breckenridge Ullr Fest

The time of year has come to town again when locals and visitors alike don Viking hats, line Main Street for the festive parade, enjoy bon fires and fireworks and the many other events that make up the week-long Breckenridge Ullr Fest. Paying homage to the Norse God of Snow, chants of U-llr, U-llr (ooh-lur) can be heard throughout the town as the fifty year tradition continues beseeching the god to bless the town and surroundings with the beloved white flakes.

This year's Breckenridge Ullr Fest events include a free family skating/nordic skiing day at the Nordic Center, Ullympics, Ullr Dating Show, crowning of King and Queen Ullr, Ullr Parade, fireworks, a bon fire, and much more. If you haven't enjoyed the spectacle before, events continue through Saturday, January 12th. Truly a not-to-be-missed tradition. Make plans for attending next year if this year eluded you.

Visit the Chamber of Commerce's website for more information about the Breckenridge Ullr Fest and I look forward to seeing you there!
