Breckenridge Winter Events & Festivities Guide: 2019-2020 Edition
Take a closer look at all the fun things happening throughout Breckenridge and the rest of Summit County during the 2019-2020 winter season...
Lighting of Breckenridge & Race of the Santas
The first weekend in December is the official holiday season kickoff celebration in Breckenridge, and this year’s event is happening on December 7th. The Lighting of Breckenridge and the hundreds of runners dressed like Santa are hard to miss but our favorite part of the weekend is the annual Holiday Dog Parade!
The famed Breckenridge Ullr Fest will celebrate 57 years in 2019 and snow lovers of all ages are welcome and encourage to attend. As usual, horned Viking hats, the biggest bon fire in the country, and the world’s longest Shotski will all be part of the celebration.
Torchlight Parade & NYE Fireworks
There’s no better place to ring in the new year than at The Maggie Restaurant. As always, New Year’s Eve at the Maggie offers a front row seat to the Peak 9 torchlight parade, and there’s no better vantage point to enjoy the always-spectacular New Year’s Firework Show as well/
Big Beers Festival
Despite being thought of by many as the ultimate beer fest, The Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines Festival can and should be enjoyed by any and all beer lover. Renowned brewmasters and brewery owners will be on hand during the three day weekend, and hundreds of big, Belgian style, and experimental beers, along with dynamic food pairings, also make for the most unique tasting experience of any brew fest in the country.
International Snow Sculpture Championships
Watch 16 teams from around the globe hand-carve 20 ton blocks of snow into memorizing works of art at the amazing Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships. Truly one of the most unique events of the year and a can’t miss for anyone who calls Breckenridge home, regardless of how many times you’ve already attended.
