Holiday Season Starts in Breckenridge!
The holiday season is in full swing in Breckenridge! Tomorrow, brave the cold temperatures and participate in the annual Race of the Santas and Reindeer down historic Main Street, Breckenridge. Starting at 4:30, holiday enthusiasts will dress up in Santa costumes and skip, jump, sprint, walk, or run the 6 block race. If you are under 12, register for a set of reindeer antlers (and even a shiny bright red nose) and race along with Santa. It is a great event that the entire family can participate in. This charitable event is for a great cause, raising money for the local Adopt an Angel program, providing gifts to families in the area that would otherwise not be able to. At the finish line, warm-up with some hot cocoa and cookies at the Red, White, and Blue Fire Department.
Following the Race of the Santas, head to the Blue River Plaza and watch as the Bernese Mountain Dogs take Santa to center stage. The annual Breckenridge Tree Lighting ceremony will start around 5:00. Breckenridge will be transformed into a scene right out of your favorite holiday movie. After the tree lighting until 7 p.m., head across the street to the Barney Ford Museum and get your picture taken with Santa. This is a free event for all ages!
'Tis the season! Snow has blanketed everything in Breckenridge, so it is a perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.
