Party in Breckenridge for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge

Breckenridge know how to throw a party, and this year for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, the festivities will be sure to impress. Some of the worlds best bike riders are returning to Colorado next week for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. It is one of the largest sporting events in the state, drawing in over one million viewers. Cyclists will ride through the majestic Rocky Mountains, reaching intense elevations over some of Colorado's mountain passes. Summit County is the place to be this year. The Stage 2 finish will be happening at A-Basin (a new host city for the 2015 USA Pro Cycling Challenge). They have fun events planned for everyone.

The biggest days for Breckenridge will be August 20th and 21st. All week long, you can watch the race on the jumbotrons that will be set up at the Riverwalk Center. On Thursday, you can cheer on the competitors as they end their day of racing on Main Street. The entire day will have free events, like Yoga and concerts on the Riverwalk Lawn. Around 3:45 p.m., the riders will be pedaling their way to the finish line and the awards ceremony will proceed. Stick around because Friday will be a full day of competition with the Men and Womens USA Pro Cycling Time Trails. Check out the full day lineup here.

If you are planning on being present at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, the Town of Breckenridge recommends that you arrive early. These races will draw some of the largest crowds seen in town. The best place to park will be the free skier lots, north of town, off of Highway 9 and Airport Road. Shuttles will be running to and from town regularly. There will also be several road closures.
