Rubber Duck Race in Breckenridge this Labor Day Weekend.

Labor Day Weekend traditionally marks the end of summer.  Kids are back in school, days are getting shorter, and the temperatures are starting to fall.  This weekend, come to Breckenridge for the annual Breckenridge Rubber Duck Race.  This year, celebrates the 27th year of racing for the Summit Foundation. Thousands of spectators will be lining the banks of the Blue River through Breckenridge on Saturday, August 30th.  Starting at 11 a.m., enjoy events for the entire family.

Traditionally, the Breckenridge Rubber Duck Race will have three duck races throughout the day.  Starting at 1 p.m., the Hudson Auto Source Kids Duck Dash will start.  As many as 750 ducks will be swimming their way in the Blue River starting at the Adams Street Bridge.  More than 40 prizes will be awarded for the kid's race.  Prizes will be donated by Peak-A-Boo Toys, Vail Resorts Echo and other businesses.

Starting at 2 p.m., the second race of the Breckenridge Rubber Duck Race will begin.  Rubber ducks will be dropped in the Blue River, starting from Main Street Station. The second race is the Business Battle Duck Race, which is sponsored in part by FirstBank of Summit County.  Businesses and organization throughout Summit County have purchased the little yellow rubber ducks and they will be racing for a private group snow cat experience on Chicago Ridge.  There are also several other group prizes that are well worth the donation.

At 3 p.m., the last of the Breckenridge Rubber Duck Races will kick-off.  Breckenridge Grand Vacations Great Rubber Duck Race will send about 10,000 yellow rubber ducks swimming downstream, starting from Main Street Station.  They will be racing to the finish line, inthe center of town at the Riverwalk Center.  It will look like a sea of yellow! The top 50 ducks or more will be awarded prizes, including winning a week-long vacation at a destination chosen by the winner.  There might even be a prize for the slowest rubber duck out there!

The Breckenridge Rubber Duck Race is a great opportunity to raise money for the Summit Foundation. Adopt your duck at www.SummitFoundation.org or purchase them at several other locations throughout Summit County.  Don't miss this Labor Day tradition!
