Summer Kicks Off in Breckenridge!

Summertime in the Rockies is a great way to escape the hot temperatures across the nation and enjoy relaxing in a quiet mountain town. This week, Breckenridge is ready to kickoff summer in mountain style. This Thursday, mark your calendars because it is the Breckenridge Town Party. Grab a lawn chair, blanket, and pack a picnic (food and drinks will be available at cost).  Come celebrate with the locals on the lawn of the Riverwalk Center. The Town of Breckenridge will be hosting the 19th annual Breckenridge Town Party, June 13th, starting at 4:30 p.m. The party is to thank the locals for all their hard work during the winter months and to kickoff the summer! Get ready to socialize, listen to free music, and smile for the town picture. There will be fun for all ages!

Stick around for the weekend, because the Breckenridge Town Party is just the beginning! June 14th through June 15th, the traditional Kingdom Days will be taking place. It is a time that honors Breckenridge's mining past. The locals love to celebrate over 150 years of Breckenridge's diverse history. The big hit of the weekend is the Outhouse Races, which will take place on June 15th at 2 p.m. It has become a tradition and will be a great way to celebrate on Father's Day! Teams from all over Breckenridge and Summit County, come together to race down the historic streets of Breckenridge in their homemade commodes on wheels. It is a quirky event, that will sure make you laugh! Anyone can try to race their commode across the finish line in attempt to win the Gold Throne, the Silver Moon or the Bronze Bucket. Kingdom Days weekend has an abundance of events scheduled.

Throughout the weekend, you can enjoy the annual sidewalk sale. Also, the gondola will open for free trips to the base of Peak 8. There you can enjoy the Breckenridge Fun Park! Take a spin on the Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Superslide, Tenmile Flyer Zipline, and much more!

Kickoff your summer in Breckenridge style. I hope to see you at the Breckenridge Town Party and Kingdom Days.
