Summit County Real Estate Sale Numbers

Great news as the first several months of 2015, the Summit County real estate sale numbers are continuing to show signs of growth.  At the end of April, Summit County has seen an increase in the number of residential properties sold by 15 percent compared to the same time in 2014.  And further proof that the Summit County real estate market is strengthening is indicated in the 2015 average sales price of single family homes and condos in the area improving over the past year.  The competition is far less than five years ago with the dwindling number of active properties.  With only 938 active listings at the beginning of May, compared to 1,223 for the same time period in 2014, now is a great time to sell as the Buyers’ return to the marketplace in the coming months.

Luxury Property Update

The market is far from struggling heading into the busy listing season.  For the month of April, there were 16 residential properties that sold in Summit County for at least $1 million dollars.  Those sales alone totaled $21.425 million dollars.  For the month, nearly $74 million dollars in sales volume was recorded- up nearly $8 million over the same time in 2014.  April still missed the high-point set in March, when $83 million dollars of real estate was sold.  There is a renewed interest in second homes and luxury properties since the first of the year.
