The critically acclaimed John Prine takes center stage at the Riverwalk Center this November. Famed for being the “songwriter’s songwriter”, Prine is unmatched in quality and will create a night to remember. A few key artists that have recorded Prine’s remarkable songs include: Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, the Everly Brothers, John Denver, Kris Kristofferson, Carly Simon, Ben Harper, Joan Baez, George Strait, Old Crow Medicine Show, Norah Jones, Bette Midler, and Miranda Lambert.

As a special feature of the evening, Oh Boy Records announced that John Prine released an album of original music in the Spring of 2018. Included in your ticket price will be a copy of John’s new record upon its release (CD only).

La Corrida de los Muertos

The fun run, open to all levels of athletic abilities, starts at Old Masonic Hall (136 S. Main Street) with the Breckenridge Creative Arts providing face paint, flowers, and festive accessories. The group run travels past the historic Valley Brook Cemetery and ends at the Arts District campus with Día de los Muertos activities occurring throughout the afternoon.

Opening weekend AND free coffee? Yes, please!

Breckenridge kicks off the season with celebrating and thanking the locals with free coffee and commemorative mugs at participating coffee shops around town. This year’s coffee shops haven’t been announced yet but when they do, mark your calendars and set that alarm for a little earlier than usual because these mugs go quick (typically by 8am)!

The 16th annual event is cherished as the marker for the winter season to begin. As a preemptive thank you to locals for their hospitality throughout the season, Wake Up Breck is a favorite that many look forward to throughout the fall. Sporting the commemorative mug all season long is one sure fire way to plant yourself within the community.
