What To Do in Breckenridge on Valentine's Day
It’s never too early to start thinking about your Valentine’s Day plans, especially if you’re spending it here in Breckenridge. So whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner spot or hope to get outside and enjoy a day filled with wintertime recreation, here’s a quick look at how we recommend you celebrate Valentine’s Day in Breckenridge.
Outside Activities
Sleigh Ride
Breckenridge Stables offers sleigh rides at 2 different locations: Peak 9 and the Breckenridge Gold Run Nordic Center. We love the Peak 9 option because it travels up the mountain and reaches about 11,000’ elevation, which couldn’t provide riders with a better view of Ten Mile Range and downtown Breckenridge. But in all honesty, you can’t really go wrong either way. Wool blankets and hot cocoa is provided, and don’t forget to tip your wrangler!
Cross Country Skiing
If you and your partner love to stay active, why not swing over to the Breckenridge Nordic Center for an afternoon of cross country skiing? There’s truly something magical about gliding across the snow through the center’s quiet forests and the views along the way are absolutely breathtaking. And after your skiing adventure, you’re free to spend the rest of the day inside their cozy lodge, which includes a large stone fireplace and lounge.
Where To Eat
If there’s one thing Breckenridge isn’t short on, other than mountains, it’s romantic restaurants. But for our money, here’s a look at a few of our favorites…
Hearthstone Restaurant
We could pretty much say this makes our list simply because it’s situated inside a 120 year old Victorian home and provides a unique sense of intimacy that is perfect for Valentine’s Day. But we’ll go on and also mention the wine list is superb, the hand-cut steaks are mouth-watering, and the views—well, they speak for themselves.
Aurum Food & Wine
Aurum Food & Wine has more of a modern feel while also remaining relaxed and casual. Everybody we’ve talked to loves the restaurant’s decor and design, and the food and drinks are pretty dang good too. We also recommend trying at least one of their signature cocktails but the beer and wine list is definitely broad enough to make just about anybody happy if that’s more your speed.
Traverse Restaurant & Bar
If you’re looking for unbeatable views to pair with your Valentine’s Day dinner, look no further than Traverse Restaurant & Bar. But along with the view, Traverse is also very well-known for its top-notch service, so you’re almost guaranteed a good experience with every visit. As for the food, expect amazing dishes that are prepared fresh daily and many are also expertly prepared with local and sustainable ingredients. Reservations, especially on Valentine’s Day, are highly recommended.
